File copy, deletion, and encryption options can be set on this property page.
When you select this option, a volume snapshot of the source drive will be created using Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) APIs prior to synchronization. Then files from this snapshot volume will be copied into the mirror folder during synchronization. This way it is possible to copy opened and locked files. This option is applicable only when the source path is on a local fixed drive. This option is not applicable in the case of real-time synchronization, i.e., no volume snapshot will be created during real-time synchronization of a mirror folder.
When you select this option with a suitable block size, MirrorFolder will keep track of the file blocks and will copy only changed blocks during synchronization. This option might be useful when copying very large files that change only marginally over time. For small and medium size files, there may not be any advantage to using this option. Note that this option is applicable only when both source and mirror folders reside on local or network drives. It assumes that the mirror file will remain unchanged since last the synchronization, otherwise, it will copy the whole file.
Enable this option to copy folder and file permissions (ACLs) during synchronization. This option requires that you select either a system or an administrative account for synchronization, and is applicable only when both source and mirror folders are on local or network drives that support file permissions.
Enable this option and select a suitable value to limit file copying speed during synchronization. You may use this option to limit network bandwidth usage for copying files to a network drive or remote storage during synchronization.
Select this option to copy files pointed by symbolic links that reside outside the source folder. Otherwise, corresponding relative symbolic links will be created in the mirror folder if that is supported.
Enable this option to delete excluded files from the mirror folder if they were copied earlier.
Enable this option to delete folders and files in the mirror folder that no longer exist in the source folder. This will effectively replicate the file delete operation in the mirror folder. You may enable the file archiving option to archive these deleted files from the mirror folder.
Enable this option to delete empty subfolders under the mirror path.
Enable this option to encrypt files transparently when copying them into the mirror folder. You need to select an encryption key and file format for the encrypted files. Note that enabling this option will not encrypt files that are already present in the mirror folder. So, it is recommended that you set this option when setting up the mirror folder for the first time. This option is not available in the standard edition of this software.
