When purchasing it online using PayPal or credit card, you will receive the product serial number email within few minutes after your order is completed successfully. For cheque and wire transfer orders, your order will be processed only after the payment is realized.
In general, when you order the software from PayPal or one of our reseller, you will first receive a payment confirmation email from them after your order is processed successfully, and then you will receive the product serial number email from us within few minutes.
When ordering from one of our reseller, you should receive a payment confirmation email (immediately for credit card purchase) from the reseller after your payment is processed successfully. At the same time, you should also receive another email from us containing the product serial number and download link for the registered version of the software.
If you do not receive any payment confirmation email from the reseller but your online order was completed successfully, please contact the reseller directly at their support email address with details about your order, and they should be able to solve your problem.
In case, you have received the payment confirmation email from the reseller, but not the product serial number email from us within one hour, it is very likely that our email was blocked or removed by your junk email filter system. In that case, please check your junk email filter system for our email. If it is not there, open a support ticket or send us a support email at <email@example.com> attaching the payment confirmation email from the reseller, and we will then send you the product serial number email again.
If you still do not receive that email, there must be some permanent problem sending you email from our server, and you will then need to send us an alternate email address to receive email from us.

If you are upgrading from Windows 95/98/Me to Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista, OR from Windows NT to Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, you must first uninstall it from your original Windows version before upgrade. After upgrading your Windows you may install the MirrorFolder freshly on your system.
In all other cases, you do not need to uninstall the software when upgrading your Windows version or installing a service pack.
No, the trial version is fully functional except that it will stop working after 30 days from its initial date of installation on the installed computer.
Yes, it can mirror any file that is opened exclusively by other application in real-time mirroring (RAID-1) mode only. In fact, real-time mirroring is performed only when a file is opened and being written by the applications. Further, in real-time mirroring mode, MirrorFolder does not even read the source file after initial synchronization, as it duplicates the file I/O request packets in the memory. So, it does not matter if a file is exclusively opened by any other application in real-time mirroring mode.
However, in auto-synchronization mode, the software can copy an open file only if it is not exclusively opened by any other application. So, the file will be copied / mirrored when the application closes the file or you reboot the computer in case the file is exclusively opened by the system itself. So, when setting up a real-time mirror for a folder, make sure that files are not opened in the source folder to complete the initial synchronization successfully.
For this you need to setup mirror for the entire system drive to another internal hard drive in real-time mirroring (RAID-1 type) mode. For example, if your system drive is "C:" and you want to mirror it to "D:", add "D:" as a mirror of "C:" with the following options enabled.
After you save this mirror settings, the software will perform an initial synchronization in the background to copy files from "C:" to "D:", except some locked system files, which will copied when you reboot the system next time. You also need to mark the mirror partition as "Active" (under Disk Management option in Computer Management utility) at this time to make it bootable.
- Mirror in real-time (RAID-1 type)
- Mirror under Local System account
- Compare size and last modified time stamp
- Prevent direct file modifications
- Copy file and folder permissions (ACLs)
- Copy file and folder attributes
- Exclude global temporary files
Select your documents folder as source and a shared folder on the server as mirror using its UNC path name, e.g., "\\ServerName\ShareName\FolderName" format. Add them in the mirror list and enable the following options for the mirror folder.
- Synchronize periodically or Synchronize at specific time
- Synchronize on startup or when connected
- Mirror under current logged on user account, or add and select a specific user account name for accessing the mirror folder.
- Compare size and last modified time stamp
- Delete unmatched files and folders (optional if you want to delete unmatched files in the mirror)
For this you need to setup mirror for the same source folder on both your office and home computers to a single folder on your USB drive. Now enable the following options for the mirror folder on both computers.
You may also enable archive options to archive older and deleted versions of files into a third location on your home and/or office computers.
- Synchronize on startup or when connected
- Mirror under current logged on user account
- Compare file size and last modified time stamp
- Bi-directional synchronization
- Copy file differentially with block size (enable this if you have relatively large sized files and only a small section of them are modified normally)
For this you need to enable archive options for the mirror folder, and select a ZIP file path name for storing ZIP files into a third location, i.e., outside both source and mirror folders and preferably on a third drive. Mirrorfolder will store older and deleted versions of files in a series of ZIP files, whose names will be appended with the current time stamp.
For Windows 95/98/Me systems, first boot the system with a Win95/98 boot floppy / CD-ROM, and delete MirrorFolder configuration files "mrfldr.dat" and "mrfldr.da0" from Windows folder, and then boot your system normally. If this does not solve the problem, next rename MirrorFolder’s startup driver file "mrfoldr.vxd" under "Windows\System" folder, and then restart your computer normally.
For Windows 2000/XP/2003 systems, boot the system from your Windows installation CD-ROM into Recovery Console mode and first delete MirrorFolder configuration files "mrfldr.dat" and "mrfldr.da0" from Windows folder, and then reboot your system normally. If this does not solve the problem, boot into Recovery Console again and either disable "mrfoldr" and "mfsyncsv" services or change their startup option as Manual, and then restart your computer normally.
You may now try to uninstall and reinstall the software or contact our support email.
